lease’age complete

it has been finalized. the lease for the new place i will be living in the elgin area has been signed. now i just have to wait two moths. i get the keys the beginning of the new year (great timing eh for a fresh start). thats great and all, but i have to be out of this current place (i took some pics since some people haven’t seen it) end of oct. meaning this weekend coming up. thus i will be moving out and will be crashing in my parents basement for two months. then its off to vancouver for 2 weeks over christmas and new year, whistler included. the teknision office will as well be moving in the mid december period. so everything is going to be brand spanking new for the new year.other news.

got leopard on friday. had the blue screen of oops after the initial install restart. but thats what i get for being impatient and not doing a traditional archive and install upgrade. ah well. i ended up wipping the whole g5 and starting it all fresh. got 20gb of lost space back. main first impression. i like the new finder. spotlight is so freaken fast now it boggles my mind. spaces i probably wont use. stacks are meh. time machine i need a new external driver for first. the new ichat is really nice. haven’t done any video chat stuff yet, but its tabbed chat and tab message preview is really slick. ical is really nice. mail i kinda looked at but i still use mail in tiger on my powerbook. and overall the whole system seems to really be smooth. and i don’t think iv gotten a beach ball yet. i do have some issues with the fact that the shared area in the finder side bar doesn’t see my pc on the network. but it seems thats an official bug, so il deal with imputing an ip for now. other than that iv had no real compatibility issues. thought cs3 got messed up but i found a work around. indesign doesn’t seem to want to start. but i haven’t touched it since school so i don’t really care, i have my photoshop, flash, and dreamweaver.

adding to what i called the weekend of toys. picked up guitar hero 3 on saturday. with the free guitar stand to. i was a late adopter of gh2 so its nice to be into it from the get go. i really like the new wireless guitar, and the song selection is fairly decent. my big impossible goal is to be able to play “dragon force - though the fire and the flames” (you have to check that vid) decently on hard.. or even medium. but be really good and the tenatious d song.

other than that…. iv got one of these now.

thats all for now.

recap

yes, yet again busy, leading to lack of posting.

currently looking for a new place to live. yes still. my time in my current place got extended a bit, though extra time hasn’t helped in finding a decent place to re-locate myself. bad time of year from what i’m getting. most decent stuff in my price range has been occupied by university and college students in september. so scraps for me. other than that things are going so so.

lots of games have been coming out recently. leading to several good and bads. new game each week is heavy on the pocket and the watch. games like bioshock, skate, halo 3 and more recently, the orange box, which actually contains 3+ games. online multi players, like halo 3 and team fortress 2 can be almost deemed the worst time eaters since they both are pretty much never ending. bioshock was a beautiful game with an awesome story and a really nice art style. early 60’s pop styles. no replay value so thats a one off. skate i spent a week with before halo frenzy happened (and im not a big halo fan) campaign though was strangely encapsulating, with multilayer being multilayer. which mainly allows me to beat down my bosses with minimal repercussions. so that ate up a week or two. orange box though is the gold star. episode 2 of the half-life (2) story was awesome. twice as long as ep1 and really added a lot to the series, and valve keeping their feet solidly on the ground saying were not moving from the top spot. of well, everything gaming. portal though is a crazy good game. its a first person puzzle game, which is crazy in 2 ways. well possibly more. but as the time that its really good puzzle wise, its really good brain hurting wise. you use portals (entrance + exit) to navigate though obstacle ridden rooms. but it really pops a blood vestal when you enter a wall and come out a floor, or out a ceiling onto a floor when you have another portal and come out a wall flying across the room. . . sometimes into a pool of toxic goo. and not only is it a puzzle game but has a plot twist (if you want a non story game to have a plot) which almost turns it into a real game. cant wait for more maps. its got replay value up the walls and though portal after portal. team fortress 2 is a run off the classic game.. but in a pixar incredibles style. game play is fun and engaging and they really upped the class to class dependent of the characters. if you know the game you will understand what i’m talking about. for the rest of you.. blah blah blah video games.

now that iv finished babbling, not much else is up and coming till i move. going to look at setting up some freelance stuff for once i get settles to help in my never ending quest to save my girlfriend… i mean.. get a car. as in save money to get a car. damn cartoons warping my brain. ya, savings have been slow, and ramping up to moving and purchasing needed living items, i can see some decent expenses coming down the pipe. one thing i need first though is motivation, which is desperately lacking in value. which is pretty much non at the moment. i am trying and failing to get some stuff underway but crashing with flying colours. woooo.

to better days… *chug*
