skate.

i got skate for the 360 last week, and been ripping it up. in comparison to the tony hawk style game, i enjoy this one a lot better. there is skill involved in button combo sets in tony, but i find skate has a lot more skill required to pull of crazy stuff. primarily grinds. in tony you usually have a grind button, this is where skate differs, it doesn’t have one. you need a perfect like up and olie in order to make it work, as well as proper body position and rotation. this is the part of the game i find the most challenging, is that you really do need to have really good control over your characters position and stance. overall im really freaken enjoying myself, and all the online stuff is sweet. you can group up in skate parks with up to 6 people online, or something around that number. steve and i from tek ripped it up one evening..

you can check out some of the media (on the right) that your able to save and upload onto the skates share web service (they’re still working out some site stuff so its sketchy sometimes). there is a limit to the amount of vids and images you can post.. but im going to pull down the flvs and images and post them on my own little showcase area.

relocation

been a lil quiet lately, lots of stuff has been going down…..

so i have to start looking for a new place to call home. seems like the current place i’m at is going to be put up for sale due to financial reason, that are unrelated to myself and my financials. as well conflict of lifestyles has also played a factor in my ability to live where i am currently. so seems like good timing for it to all go down. so i’m looking for a condo place on the outskirts of downtown or anyplace nice.. like britannia lets say. if any one has low down on digs available, looking for a new person to bunk with, or has extra space, give me a shout. my only for-seen issue is space. i kinda have a lot of stuff, im hopping a single bedroom space with living/dining will work out.

simple things

so i pulled out a calvin and hobbes book from the bookshelf a couple of days ago and got re-acquainted to characters that i grew up with. to date i have not come across a comic that is as amazing as this. reading them at a more mature are, you realize how really simple things are as a kid. or at least how the comic portrays it. imagination just isn’t the same anymore, simple things don’t make you go crazy with as much excitement or giddy’ness as they did as a kid.

i’m going to push to get the calvin and hobbes collectors edition set for christmas or get it myself since i’m missing a bunch of them, since someone removed them from my possession several years back (bastards). once you remember the impact of the simple minimal enjoyments of pretending your a t-rex jet fighter pilot while in the sandbox, you think of all the times you neglect to find those simple enjoyments anymore. i’m sure this changes when you become a parents since you have to entertain your kids somehow. but i’m sure these comics can be am awesome manual for when that time comes.

o i miss calvin ball.
